Why Platypus PR?
Is not a question you expect to spend any real time
considering...
Well, it was chosen mainly because we’ve always thought
that they were cute
animals – but cute isn’t exactly
the sort of value you’d associate with a
PR company. After a bit more thought and anthropomorphising,
the values of adaptability, tenacity and longevity all
seemed pretty good to associate
ourselves with here at Platypus Towers. Then it turned out
that the male
Platypus was pretty territorial, often bad tempered and could
poison you.
Not what we want to do with our clients (unless necessary).
More research turned up the fact that Platypus are not mammals
but monotremes and
it's best we draw a veil over the complicated laying eggs,
suckling their
young and milk all round the pouch business, (never mind
the hairy echidna
stuff).

We hadn’t been going
long when a google search threw up the fact that there was already
a German company called Platypus PR!
find out more about them. Our German is pretty poor and after
learning how to say: the frying pan is dirty, things all went a bit
pear shaped. Though Schmutzig and Schadenfreude remain
great words.
What to do? Well, we’ll happily link to anyone
else who has a company called Platypus PR though we did take the liberty to immediately register the .com
and .co.uk domain names. In the spirit of European solidarity, we left the
.eu domain name well alone.
Campaign Lead – Jeff Scott
Jeff Scott is Platypus PR’s publishing
specialist and has 17 years, 5 months
and 19 days of experience in publishing.
Like all authors, for my own work I want someone who understands
my book,
loves me, appreciates the sacrifices I have endured to write it, and will
go
out there in front of all the people sitting in the dark and shine a light
on my book so I can bring light into their lives. We always try to shine
that light at Platypus PR
Campaign Support – Tracey Allum

organisations – including
EA and Ubisoft - and a variety of publishing companies Tracey has extensive
media relationships across a broad range of media, including the publishing
